On behalf of my wife and I, I am expressing our heartfelt gratitude to the Recreational Director and her staff for their extraordinary courtesy, tender caring attitude and always with a loving smile. This attitude is always extended to all residents at NY Center.

With such a special group, a commendation should be extended to the individual(s) who employed them.

On behalf of my family I would like to express our deep gratitude for your work over the last few years taking care of my mother. Each day she was treated with kindness and tenderness in your facility. As difficult as it was to see her decline in the last few months, we were reassured in the fact that all of you were present for her, not just to monitor her health, but by the compassion we witnessed in your treatment. We feel she truly had the best care thanks to your combined efforts, and we are so grateful for every one of you.

We believe Mom is now at peace. We pray for G-d’s blessing upon each of you as you continue in your work.

We’d like to express our appreciation for the work of the PT and OT departments, especially that of Kevin McCloskey, with our mother Ada.

She had a serious stroke on February 6, and arrived at NY Center on March 6. Since then she has been working with Kevin and he is just wonderful. He focuses completely on our mother, looks directly at her and speaks so clearly, and with such confidence and encouragement, that she loses her fear and tries to do what he prescribes. He asks her to indicate where it hursts, and he respects her feelings. He seems very interested in her progress. There have been improvements in her ability to lift her hips and pelvic area from a mattress, more left leg and foot movement, and to assist in getting in and out of bed. Several times, when he’s had a little time before his shift ended, he went to her room, and practiced transferring a couple of times. That is real dedication. We marvel at his patience with a very old and very disabled person. He’s just great, and we feel so lucky that he was assigned to work with our mother.

Her Occupational Therapist had been Teresa Trzaska, and she is lovely, and gentle and kind. Through her direction, our mother’s left hand and arm are dramatically improved, both in strength and control.

Thank you for providing this excellent service.

— Sherry T. and Judy P.

Just a note to let you know how much your competent and dedicated managerial role regarding my mother is appreciated.

There are plenty of possibilities for information to be lost or confused and many people involved in the entire caretaking process. To have the information flow as smoothly as possible and to have my mother taken care of competently and compassionately is all I ask. To have that happen and then some is something to be grateful for in this day and age.

So many thanks for your wonderful work!

On behalf of my mother, our family, my husband and myself, I want to take this opportunity to personally thank you for the laudable care and concern provided my father during his stay at your wonderful center. Everyone who works at your center, from the receptionist to the office staff was kind, helpful and ready to assist in any way. The doctors and nurses who attended my dad were truly caring and highly qualified in their craft. Dad’s nurses were always available and at every visit greeted us with a friendly smile and pleasant attitude. Even with all the debilitating illnesses my dad faced at the end, we can’t tell you the peace of mind and comfort we feel knowing that he was in an excellent facility where he received the very best care. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you so much for all you did for our wonderful dad. G-d bless you.
